Policies

Privacy, accessibility, complaints and our charity details.

Privacy

This website does not collect personal data. It has no forms, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not set cookies.

The site uses Google Fonts to display its typefaces. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google’s servers, which can see your IP address. You can read Google’s privacy policy.

The links to Google Maps and Apple Maps on our contact page open those services, which have their own privacy policies. Nothing is sent to them unless you follow a link.

If you phone or write to us and would like to know how we look after what you tell us, or what information we hold about you, call us on 07449 370133 or write to us at the address below.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this site. It has been built to:

  • work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “skip to content” link on every page;
  • respect your device’s reduced motion setting: the parallax, scroll drawing and chalk animations are switched off and the finished drawings are shown at once;
  • keep body text at a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, with dark scrims under any text on photographs;
  • give every meaningful photograph a text description, and hide purely decorative images and drawings from screen readers;
  • reflow to narrow screens down to 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling, and allow zooming.

The chalk drawing board on the home page is a decorative extra; nothing on the site depends on it.

If you find something that does not work for you, please tell us by calling 07449 370133 or writing to us, and we will do our best to fix it or give you the information another way.

Complaints and concerns

If you are unhappy with anything we have done, or have a concern about a cat or about the charity, please tell us first. Call 07449 370133 or write to Cats in Care, 24 Redland Lane, Westbury, Wiltshire BA13 3QA.

If you have raised a concern with us and it has not been resolved, you can report a concern about a charity to the regulator, the Charity Commission for England and Wales, at gov.uk/complain-about-charity.

If you are worried about an animal’s welfare right now, see what to do if you find a cat.
